Cakes and Light...

So I just put my BRF/Verm PF-cakes in my aquarium, they don't have pins yet, but I put them in the fridge for like 12 hours overnight first... I know they need light to help initiate the pins, but my room doesn't have a lot of sun light come into it, (trees around my windows) so I have a really bright lamp on the desk with the aquarium that I got shinning on the cakes. Will this work or does only natural light work? And how many hours a day should I do this, like 4 or 5? And how much light do they need after they pin? Will they be ok in the shady room?
Thx

Give them 12/12, diffused sunlight or indoor light or a combination of the two. Why did you put them in the fridge? RR

No I thought the cold would help initiate pins, heh.

The cold will delay pinning. Cubes are a warm weather species that needs no cold shock. RR

So after birthing a cube dunk in fridge or dunk out of fridge?

Maybe people dunk in fridge to reduce contamination risks? Because bacteria grow very slow in the cold.

Correct. Always dunk in the refrigerator or under running water to prevent bacteria buildup. If you're not dunking, there is no need to use the refrigerator. Cold shocking is not for cubensis or pan cyans. RR
