a # of syringes and jars.

I was wondering how much people use to grow a month. I figured 12 jars havesting a month would be enough. I'm a newbie, how much should i invest in supplies such as syringes and jars. 12 jars 1 syringe? 56 jars 4 syringes? Is it better to have an excess of one or another? Again, I'm a newbie... How much supplies do you have/are currently using?

By the way, didn't know i could just get canning jars at walmart, the faq made it seem harder. : )

Most vendors sell 10cc syringes with spores i believe.

So your not gonna get that many jars...from 1 syringe.

I make my own spore syringes...... I have alot of jars.

It all depends on what method you use to grow. If I was using the PF tek(or MMGG) I would want two syringes and 12 jars. It also depends on how many mushrooms you want. One half pint should give you 3-7 grams, 4-5 being the norm.

But if your going to spawn into straw or dung then you only need one syringe and 3-6 jars. And you can get an almost infinite amount of mushrooms from just that. it depends on the method entirely. My advice for a beginner is use 4-8 jars with 1-2 syringes. First grow do a very simple casing tek with straight vermiculite or coco fiber, from then on I would spawn straw or dung and your pretty much set. Once you complete your first grow you will have a much better grasp on what the requiremetns are. Good luck

i make syringes from prints now-so im not stingy with the spores like i used to be-
i have lots of jars-LOL-48 right now-
i use 1 syringe per 5 jars-because the pressure cookers i have hold 5 jars-i have a few of these cookers-so its easy to lay out a syringe per cooker-(5 jars a cooker)

dont invest too much of your quid into those 1/2 pint tapered jars. i bet after you birth your 12th cake, you will quickly look for a new method (bulking with millet or rye grain in 1, 1.5qt jars) and casing.
buy a box of 12, and leave it at that. better make a print off a couple of your shrooms instaed of buying syringes all the time too, or get some agar.
