Impressed
    #5744692 - 06/13/06 01:08 AM (17 years, 7 months ago)

This is my first time in the Philosophy thread and I am very impressed. The collection of posts seem to be written by people who I can relate with. It's comforting to know that others take their lives seriously and what is to come after this life. Everyone who believes in humility, kindness, forgivness, others first, etc... ROCK ON!!!!! That is what it is all about.

Why is putting others first everytime "what it's all about"? This seems like such a dishonest POV IMO. I see it all the time here and I never really see examples of it from the posters. It's the most unrealistic stance and unnatural to boot. Now if you said try to treat others as you treat yourself, or give others the respect you give yourself then I would think you might be really saying something that would have real meaning in living. But NOOOOOOOOOO! Same ol same ol.IMO you've missed the target and the path.

So welcome to the fray.

Referring to what I said about humility etc... as a "belief", aligns it with the realistic view of humanity that you hold. The modest characteristics I mentioned are congruent with how a healthy person would treat themselves.
Everyone is kind, forgiving, etc... to people they like
Whatever your view is on the world...

It appears impressive now, but you are not aware of the troubled past and negative energy that still permeates the air of this place. We once hung an innocent individual, and the subconscious, maleovent emotions within those responsible still resurface and threaten others with the same fate. If they are impure, they will succumb.

Don't blame the sea that will seize your demise when the sea issued you fair warning.

Did I mention that the ghost of the fallen one still haunts this place, as well? It will arise from the ashes, always in different forms, almost as though the ghost were reaching its dead hand in a hand-puppet, so to speak...

Also, those who manifest the negative karma are those who cast illusions of positivity... the dark undercurrent which threatens to swallow all is a twisted and unprovoked one... It leads straight to Hel and her offspring...
