ok the other day i had to exchange some co2 for fresh air in my jars. they are about 95% done now and question i have is what do i do about the mycelium thats growing up through the dry verm layer at the top of the jar? should i cut it off where the cake starts or should i just leave it there. its not happening in all of my jars, id say about half, with one or two very thick and almost all over the verm. so does this happen to anyone else, and if so what did you guys do? thanks. late.

just case it all; no need to remove that. just dump off the excess.

ok either way just dump off teh excess and plop them on some tinfoil or something on your perlite. i personally recommend the inner reservoir tek with cakes. it takes about 1 minute of your time and it rocks; to say the least.

thanks for your help, and ideas. since its my first time i dont think im gonna fuck around too much with them, ill probablly skim milk dunk em between flushes. ooh and i(against everyone's advice) birthed a cake early, cut off the top that wasnet colonized and thought it was pretty dry, so i injected about 4ccs of water into the cake and two days later i had green mold where i injected it and at the bottom(where most of the water just came out). so im kinda a little worried about too much water, thanks tho, late.

BeppoMarx is right - inner reservoir tek kicks ass for cakes. Noticeably increased my yields, I think the tek is worth the time taken for newbies.

pimp: evil green may have been caused by the sterility of the needle the water or so other component from when you pumped with water...... the water being in the cake could not of possible just caused green mold to appear.....especially if its in the area of injection as you said.......
