Anyone interested?

I plan to put down a deposit sometime next month. I think it would be a pretty good experience. I've never even been outside Canada, let alone South America.
http://www.bluemorphotours.com/shamanic_tour_info.asp
I'll be going with this one friend, very good guy and possibly his younger brother(I think he's only like 19/20...so it would be quite an experience for him also). Very good people.
If you are interested in this sort of thing, perhaps we can all work on a date and possibly cut down on costs.
$1195 USD includes accomadations/meals for the 9 day journey. Obviously additional money will be required to make it to Iquitos, Peru.
Not everyone has this kind of money, but I am very serious about making this happen. Obviously some more information will be gathered with email/phone from the company. If you are interested doing this ANY time in the future, leave a post or pm me

Please keep me informed. My schedule is erratic so I cannot say for sure whether I'll make it - but I've had my eye on Peru ever since my sister and her husband went there about 6 years ago and brought me back a peruvian hand carved wooden hand drum. I thirst for travel!.. maybe that's why I'm so damn dehydrated at the moment?
If my memory serves, my sis scored round trip tickets from the Los Angeles area for just under $300 per person.

Going on this trip will not make you a shaman.

Hehe, I wouldn't have thought it would.. I'd be in it to pick up some more hand crafted musical instruments. Even more importantly, and the reason why I have such a love for travel, would be to continue in my quest of a broadened perspective spiced through the witness of cultures different from my own.

All I really know is that those few years saddled me with a faith in the redemptive potential of the imagination which, however flat, stale and unprofitable the world seems to me now, I cannot for the life of me shake. -Erik Davis

Really these "Shamanic Tours" are ripoffs for gringos. If you go to Iquitos or Yurimaguas, you can easily find an Ayahuasquero and pay a minimal fee to drink. You can fly into Lima for ~$600-$800, then into Tarapoto or Iquitos for another $100 - $200. From there, you can stay in decent hostels for ~$7-$10/night. Peru is an amazing place. If you have any questions about it, shoot.
