Ok .... What I did was get a pie pan about 7" .. Then I put a layer of mosit perlite on the bottom then I chrushed up the jar i had into 1/2 inch nuggets ... Placed them in side the pan and it was a goo 1/2 inch of this stuff now. The I put a lite layer of poting soil 50 part vermiculite and 60 part peat moss ... Something like that .. its the second day and there is a little bit of fuzz i think its mycelium is very very lite white . Well Please post ... and give some input ..........

What strain are you growing? If it was Pans Tropicalis( your title said pan tek)((or maybe you just ment what you were growing in?)) they have a very whispy thin mycelia. But if it was regular cubensis and its only been a couple days *depending on the casing layer* it may be cobweb mold. Take a mister and lightly mist the area with H2O2, where you see the growth. If its myceia it will do nothing. If its cobweb mold, then it will melt like cotton candy and sometimes sizzle. It it does turn out to be cobweb mold. Take a sterile fork and rake the entire casing layer off and then use a sterilized casing soil( bake in oven for 1 1/2 hours covered and moist) and recase. Make sure and give your raw substrate layer a good soaking of H2O2 and water before you put the new layer on.:)bluhoney
