question regarding picking of the mushroom

When a group of mushrooms, say half a dozen or so, grow from the same stalk (I know this is not the word...correct me please), what is the best way to pick a mature mushroom from the bunch without hurting the immature ones? I decided the other day to cut a mature mushroom with a pair of scissors as close to the base as possible to let the others grow. Is this the right way? Many thanks.

just pull 'em out lol. It doesn't matter if you get a little myc. off because it'll all grow back in time for your next flush .

Wrong. You have it correct ebass. Use sissors or a sharp knife to cut the mature ones without damaging the cluster so the smaller ones can finish. RR

From my past experiences i have just pulled the suckers out. Even the ones that look like there not done. On my second or third flush it seems like they done get any bigger. The ones that seem there smaller than the rest that is. If you have open areas just patch em up spray some water on em and your good to go.

I've always pulled them out CAREFULLY
its okay if you take a little bit of substrate with them just dont touch or disturb the other ones
or you just let them get big and harvest all at once

Perhaps some of you aren't reading the question. It's about picking from a cluster where they all share a common 'stalk'. You can't pick just one without damaging all of them. It's not about patching or damaging the substrate. It's about taking the whole cluster or picking a mature one or two, to allow the rest to keep growing. Cutting with a knife or sissors does that. RR
