spawning rye cake(after third flush) to straw

i will spawn my rye cake(mycobag) to some straw. yes i know it has contams and such in it, but the cake is only going to push out maybe 3-4grams next flush so i might aswell experment. i will use a ratio of 1 cake(250ml) to 1 litre(straw) or maybe more. incubating at high 70's will help.
maybe it will work maybe it won't but i don't really care since it will be on its 4th flush by then.
will be soaking the straw for 24hours in a dilution of bleach water at room temp then pasterizing the straw for 3 hours, then i will layer the rye and straw and press down so to compact the straw/rye mixture

soak ur straw in bleach water? Dont think that would be a good idea. Although this is something which i have wondered about b4, if spent cakes can be successfuly used to spawn hpoo and other such substrates.

Spent cakes/grains should not be used as spawn. You want young, aggressive spawn to go to bulk, not spent out tired old stuff. Don't waste your time. I'm sure someone will come along with a story of "I spawned a pf cake after ten flushes and it worked great", but try to disregard such nonsense. RR

the reason im going to spawn the cake to some straw is because, there not likely to survive there next flush(if theres one). so i intend to do what i can with them. if they contam, i don't mind if they don't well i'll be a happy "bunny".
if i did just let them flush again then they would only make maybe 5 grams each. which is only 2 trips(1 week apart)
the bleach water will be 250ml of bleach to 100 gallons of water by the way. spawning and incubation will be kept as clean as possible;air purifyer, spray the place down with bleach water.
will also spray the cakes with 3%peroxide before i spawn it to straw. im going to spawn the spawn to the straw at a 1:1 ratio, this will be too easy for the myc to recolonise.

If you are going to do anything with your spent cakes/spawn is to outdoor tek them. This way you have nothing to lose but the time it takes to dig the hole. And it may work a bit better than a casing attempt. -Me
