pictures of danish flag(peony) look similar but your coloring is darker. this same company sells gibberic acid. found a new source for that as well i guess.

nope, hen and chicks. as for sise i couldnt say, im growing ubnder crappy circumstances. but judging by the sise of the pod compared to pods of regular purple white poppies in the same tub its a big mother.
the danebrog lace looks to me like Danish flag veriety. wich is one of the ones i did sow. but this looks severely different though, if it realy is danish flag its some sort of mutant or hybrid...

well ive been asking around and apparently this realy is something new. so im gonna propagate it and see if i can stabalise the form. then ill get it regged and make a million dollors or something...
if it realy is new i at least want to get to name it, so itll be a wile before these reach the market.
anyways what it appears to be at the moment is a single petaled mutation of the 'Drama Queen' form...

well you have to stabilize that trait first. you may only get 1 out of a 1000 with the seeds if this is true. you also dont know who the pollen donor is. i presume its mainly self pollinated but how can you tell.

well it doesnt look like any of the poppies i sowed. i sowed Danish flag, persian blue and turkish commercial. none of those look like a parent to me.
the ratios wont be as bad as all that, im sure, but in any case i got a professional ethno garden and poppie expert who will help me out with it.

to complete the thread: i found these poppies some 3 years ago in a park in the south of Rotterdam. a place where there used to be garden houses for rent, they broke those down, and the next year the field was full with poppies, different kinds. here is a picture i took 3 years ago of what i think is the same poppie as the one on vertigo's pictures: http://members.chello.nl/rebekker/123.JPG this is not strange because a few years ago i had send some different kinds of poppie seeds to vertigo, including that one. for a few years they didnt came up, this year they did.
and now you want to register the plant, and who knows maybe what. it still seems a bit strange to me when i think about it
you know what i mean, should i be doing the same thing as you, and try to register the plant or something because of the money that could be made from it? if there is anny money in it. or maybe register if that would be possible and/or just share the seeds with people, like i did before with you and still keep it exclusive? i prefer the last.

i dunno, i like the exclusive idea, but it makes it kind of vulnerable. if we register it n stuff it will virtualy assure the survival of this form.
as for money to be made, im still not sure about how that works n stuff. my friend the ethnobotanist assures me its possible to get it officialy regged and let it pay fot itself even steven. that sounds pretty good to me.
im not in this for money, i want to preserve the form (i realy love its looks) and if possible get a chance to name it.
also i told u on smartboard that ure welcome to come and involve yourself in any or all parts of the process, including the naming. as far as im concerned you have an equal stake next to my farmer friend and myself.
im celebrating my birthday on the farm there on aug 5th, consider yourself invited.
