boiling too long?
    #5738287 - 06/11/06 03:00 PM (17 years, 7 months ago)

so i had fallowed the advice that was given to me previouse to making my shroom and it worked. now that i wanna start them up again after about 3months that have passed. so i make a batch using WBS pressure cooker yadda yadda......so this time i had boiled the WBS a lil longer cuz i was washing the jars and forgot.....does this make a difference? as long as there is a good amount of water withing the wbs? will it cause it to rot? this is my second attempt to making the jars and they have both started to rot? i dont understand what i am doing wrong, compared to when i did it before.

What do you mean by Rot? Molded..bacteria...or just looks burnt? Boiling too long can dry out the WBS..Cook it and make the kernels split and kill off key nutrients.

did you drain the wbs after boiling for a good 30-45 min?
did any moisture get in the jars during pcooking?

Austin

what i mean by rot is that i can smell them going bad.... i dont see any roting itself.

and i am PC them perferctly so that when i open the jars they make that sealed air tight nose. they amount of moister looks good to me....some of the seeds have split open from the water content
absorbed. and when i get done with pcing them you can see theres a lil bit of water on the sides of the glass....just a lil bit.
