* In the event that the Shroomery is served with a legal subpoena, we will provide the information requested. * In the event a user is attempting to disrupt/undermine the server/community, we reserve the right to report them to their ISP and any applicable authorities. * We may provide information about the number of hits we receive and the most popular pages on the Shroomery to potential advertisers, to help them position their ads for greatest visibility.
Has the shroomery ever been served with a legal supoena ?.. out of interest.
Due to the general content of this site it wouldn't suprise me (people posting images of their grow ops etc)

Just to elaborate on Pris' response a bit, we've been online since August 1997 without incident.

What kind of information do you have access to that you could give the police?
Edit: Also, would you warn someone if you gave up thier info?

under a subpeona everything in your PM box, and whats already viewable in the forums, your IP address and pictures, if they go to the extent of requesting your info then they already have a good case, they're just trying to solidify it.

Access logs for approximately the past week, including IP addresses, URLs visited, and when.
Information from our database going back to the late 90s, such as the e-mail addresses provided when registering on the BB, the original IP of any registered members and the IPs they had when they made any posts.
We could not provide the text of secure private messages because of the way the encryption works. If you visit the site through an anonymous proxy, we could not provide your real IP address. And of course, by keeping your posts hypothetical and not incriminating yourself, you greatly reduce the chances of saying something you regret. I honestly can't imagine anyone coming under investigation due to a post on this site. The real risk is if you were already under investigation, they might be able to use your posts to strengthen the case/get a search warrant/prove you intended to distribute/whatever. So as with all things in life, an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure.
