WBS Spawn to Poo, Field Capacity Question

I have the enviable problem of having more jars than I can use since none of them contaminated. I decided to do a "test run" to iron out the kinks in my procedure. Even if this mini-grow doesn't make it I learned a lot by putting it all together so it'll be worth it. Again, jars to spare.
So I pasteurized the hpoo (cut with expanded clay bits at a 1:3 clay:hpoo ratio), let it cool, hand-squeezed the material out a bit and added two jars of colonized WBS. Mixed it all up uniformly. Now...
Do I mist the mixture until it reaches field capacty? I've been following Roadz' tek, it doesn't mention anything about misting but I could have sworn I read somewhere you're supposed to mist until the poo/WBS just barely glistens.
Advice?

If I get what your saying, no. You dont mist the case, while it is colonizing. But once you place it in the FC.
Or,
When you pasteurize the hpoo and prior to adding the spawn you can mist it,
but once you mix it, it should have the correct moister content. A mist or two wont hurt, but I would not try to correct the moister content.

Ok, that sounds sane. I squeezed the hpoo handful by handful so I have a good sense of the moisture. Damp but not dripping at all with a gentle squeeze, some drips if squeezed hard. I then broke it all up to make as airy as possible then added the WBS, mixed it and made it all level.
Thanks for the help, Snaggletooth.

I might peek. I didn't sterilize the spoon, I didn't sterilize the aluminum tin. I did wash my hands and spray with alcohol but ...this was meant mostly as a milk run for the pasteurization and spawn procedure.
If this turns into something viable, great. If not, no problem. The logic here was that I would probably make a lot of mistakes (I did) and so there was no point being super anal while trying to iron out the kinks.
But the legit run in a day or two will be balls-to-the-wall sterile. And no peeking. =)

You don't need to be sterile when spawning to manure that has only been pasteurized. Just be clean. The manure might be a tad on the dry side, but it will actually colonize faster that way. You can always dunk later after first flush.
Feild capacity means a handfull won't drip when held, but a gentle squeeze will get a few drops and a tight squeeze will deliver a small stream. RR

Thanks for clearing that up. In that case I think I did slightly over-dry the hpoo. But as you said, maybe that's a good thing.
