6 jars with birdseed, and in the lid was some polyfil for future gas exchange, on top of that I had a double layerd piece of tinfoil. I left these jars in the PC without opening it for 5 days. Do you think these jars are still good to incoulate? The PC was never opened till today, I was thinking nothing much could be living inside that PC cuz it was never opened after pressure cookin for an hour at 15ppi....under the tinfoils theres a little condensation and water droplets....what do you guys think? Throw them out and dont take the chance, or keep them and incoculate?

I've done that many times without problems. If the jars were sterilized properly in the first place, they should work fine. I even store uninoculated jars of birdseed in my hepa filtered glovebox for weeks with no contamination problems.

Yeah, they should be ok. Aslong as there sterile, they won't contam. A good thing to do is pressure cook the jars, then them them sit for a week before innoculation. That way you know they are not contamed, and you wont have to worry about wasting spores on an already conta, minated jar.

cool; i wanted to know this too! i pced some birdseed jars and cooled tehm off and emptied out the PC. then i stuck teh jars back in teh PC to bring the whole thing over to my friends house and the PC was in the trunk of my car for like 4 days or so; but i dont think they ever froze. the jars still seem to have the same or close to original moisture content in them. we'll see tho. just innoculated them yesterday with TC. hope they germinate!

Unless your pressure cooker was sucking in insane amounts of air then they jars will be fine.
