Shitty syringe

6 pint jars, BRF substrate, EQ, over a week at 84 deg., nothing.
No signs of contamination, no signs of anything! Zip. WTF?? Impatient, maybe, but this seems lame. Little dark clumps of spores are even visible stuck to the side of the glass in places, so they def. got in there. Anyone ever heard of fake syringes? Dead/expired syringes? I'm posting for a friend btw..

There are a lot of factors that could effect this...so there is no direct answer. Wait another week, then trash them. If the Syringe is from a Shroomery sponsor, I wouldn't worry about it being "shitty" /bunk.
If BRF is made wrong, innoc'd when hot, innoc'd in the center......it can either have killed or stunted the growth...

Make sure your temp reading is accurate. You could be cooking them perhaps? I did this and didnt see any growth for ages. Ask the sponsor about it.

My first jars took 2 weeks before I saw anything in them. if you made the jars aliitle on the damp side or if yuo packed the to much then these things will also slow it down. Relax and be patient, we all have gone through this but you are not screwed yet by any means.

BRF jars can take a while, especially with spore innocs. Next time, make an LC and stand back!
Wait another week and see how it goes. For now, I wouldn't worry about it too much.

hey bro I know someone who did the same exact thing, it may take 5 weeks to complete the process. his pint jars took about 2 weeks, maybe a few days over. same strain/substrate too.

I kept a syringe at room temp-even small flucuations of above average temps for about 4 to 5 months and it still worked just fine.

#1 rule to mycology
learn some fucking patience! A week is not a long time to be waiting, some people dont see germination until about the second week, others see a month before any signs.
There are way too many factors to determine the problem, on average BRF cakes perform poorly because of poor water content or compacted substrate. It's not uncommon to see long colonization times when following the PF method. At the 2nd week mark it's a good idea to get some other jars whipped up, if the first grow fails you have others on the way and won't lose much time.
good luck

As coda said and I'll reiterate first lesson in mycology is "Patience is a Virtue"! Germination can often take up to 3 weeks, personally I would not wait any longer than that as my time will be put to better use. GL bro

Wow, thanks for all the responses! I've just gotten back after a day of recovery at an all night party at a rad club..good house music. I totally agree that patience is virtue, I just haven't learned any yet Don't think it's a temp. issue..the jars cooled for about 16 hours, overnight and while at work the next day. Substrate was hardly tamped down, like really not more than a quarter inch, maybe 3/8 inch. Water content basically what most BRF guides suggest, possibly 5-8% higher...don't think that would make a negative difference. I will be patient.
ps hyphae: $2/lb oyster shell flour = ripoff!! Dude, my ladyfriend works at a little nursery owned by this rad guy who's got almost every psychotropic plant (that's legal) that grows in my region. He sells it for 50 cents a lb, and bat guano for like 1.50/lb, lots of shiet, look around, you can find a better deal!

50 cents a pound would hardly cover costs for an online business besides it does go a long way. If you have a cheaper online source post it otherwise please she isn't ripping off anyone she is providing a service at a reasonable price IMO.
