Soccer questions

So what determines who gets into the "World Cup"?
Is it anything like American sports leagues? Do all these teams play an 82 game regular season followed by an elimination tournament? Do they trade players? What's the average career span of a soccer player? Who's the Michael Jordan of Soccer?

there's a tourney to get to the tourney that takes two years or something
players play for the team representing the country of their birth, there is no trading
michael jordan of soccer, probably pele the best player in the world right now probably ronaldo

yeah theres like a world cup qualifer that goes on forever it seems like.. then it seems like every country with 12 men get into the cup.
as for trading players and stuff.. that doesnt happen.. its like the world baseball classic.. players play for their nationality.. and then resume play in their leagues.
and pele is def the michael jordan of soccer, ronaldo is the kobe bryant, and its looking like rhidino (spelling off) is the lebron james.. all brazian players mind ya

Interesting.
It seems like an interesting sport. Its foundation is kinda like hockey. A goal seems to be extremely rare in soccer for some reason despite the net being so huge.

So how does it go?
The two teams with the highest points go to the next round?
Then why count goals? Is that what it goes too in case of tie?
What if goals are tied too?

yeah sorry i avoided responding because honestly i dont know the answer.. i actually thought it was the 2 highest pts go.. then if there is a tie. whoever won the match between the 2 teams tied moves on, if those 2 teams (who tied in their match, and are tied for pts), then it goes to goals..
maybe lol
