Can These Mycellium survive this kinda Torture???
    #573526 - 03/08/02 03:12 PM (21 years, 9 months ago)

Ok heres what happened. I have my cakes in an ultra sonic humidifier setup in an attic. They accidentally got heated to a lil over 100 Degrees in the chamber. So then i cooled them off and got them arkound 69 to 73 degrees. Then today the temp got really hot outside and when i came home the temp was 90 Degrees again.

(1)Well my question is will the mycellium survive this torture and still be able to fruit if i can maintain around 75 degrees???

(2)And also what is the best way too cool off the setup or maintain a cooler temp then outside. I have 2 two liter bottles in the freezer and i was going to just keep 2 liter bottles on rotation like put 2 in the tank and then when they tun into water swith them out with 2 more. My tank is about 4 feet long and 1ft and a half tall.
Any imput or ideas would be very appreciated .

Thanks everyone i know you all will be very helpful.

No i have to use the attic. Cuz its really discreate and i dont want anyone else int he house to know im using the hosue to grow shrooms in and nobody that lives here ever ventures into the attic. So i gues sill jsut have ta deal with all the temp promblems and try to useice bottles to keep in cool in the summer time to maintain 75 degrees and hot enough in the winter to also maintain 70 to 75 degrees. Thanks for your help everyone , its greatly appreciated

its not a bad idea at all but your gonna have to come up with some way of cooling it, i would say coke bottles is not a good idea since it would require so much freaking work... maybe try to splice into an AC vent with some PVC pipe or vinyl tubing probabally would take a wide piece to do the trick but i bet if this is an option for you and you did it right it could work very well. make sure you silicon up the splice so too much of the cold air doesnt escape into the attic and not go out the vent at all which could raise suspicion and cause some type of AC repairman to come out or sumtin if your worried about parents which is what it seems like to me.....

Dude have you ever been in an attic when it's really hot
outside? it can be 85-90 outside and the attic be so hot
that you can barely breathe. Believe me I install hvac
for a living. If you can find any basement space at all
(even crawl space) it would be 500% better. Or growing
invitro in a closet might be better for your situation.
I guess you have to work with whatever you've got but
it would be bad to lose your whole project just because
it's a nice day. Good luck!:peace:
