Hello, i was wondering if anyone had any experience with HBWR cultivation. I was able to get 2 to germinate, but after the 2 pair of leaves grew in, both turned brown then died. It looked like they were burned. I sprayed one for parasites.. I'm not sure but i think that made that one worse. The other i started inside. When it started to get burned i put it outside. after which it died. I'm having terrible luck with this. So far Ive come up with these possible problems: 1 Parasites (i think i have a spider mite problem inside) 2 ?plant virus? 3 root rot(tho i never over watered em... usually waited until i could stick my finger to about 1/4 - 1/2 inch into the soil w/o feeling moisture) 4 too much/too little sun 5 not enough humidity (doubtful) 6 Old seeds
Ive looked and looked on the internet and found no sign that anyone else has problems growing these plants at all. Please help! and Thanks for taking the time to read this in the first place!
-------------------- "Centuries ago, sailors on long voyages used to leave a pair of pigs on every deserted island. Or ... a pair of goats. Either way, on any future visit, the island would be a source of meat. These islands, they were pristine. These were home to breeds of birds with no natural predators. Breeds of birds that lived nowhere else on earth. The plants there, without enemies they evolved without thorns or poisons. Without predators and enemies, these islands, they were paradise. The sailors, the next time they visited these islands, the only things still there would be herds of goats or pigs. Does this remind you of anything? Maybe the ol' Adam and Eve story? You ever wonder when God's coming back with a lot of barbecue sauce?" Chuck Palahniuk

All I know about woodrose cultivation, is that I won't even bother, as getting them to flower outside of hawaii, etc has been said to be nearly impossible.
I've searched this board a bit. I haven't found evidence of a single member (or a single member's friend) ever getting them to flower (if I recall, it's been a while though). Certainly no pictures.

With the proper conditions, lights (intensity/dark period),temps, and maybe humidity, you should be able to.

Are you giving them full sun, alot of sites say that's what they need but it's a damn lie, they like about 50% shade, at least as young plants.
