Hey RR, wax on, or wax off?

Spawned an 18 gallon monotub that has a total of eight holes stuffed with polyfill. I loosely placed a sheet of wax paper on top of the substrate (coir mixed with poo)because in the past I have noticed a bit of dehydration of the substrate surface. In posts Ive searched, it says to replace the wax paper every couple of days. But in a monotub, you aren't supposed to open it after spawning until casing or harvesting.
Is there a disadvantage to the wax paper being left on for a week or so?
Maybe I worry too much.

Yea, probably shouldn't use it in a monotub. The wax paper helps in a mini greenhouse where you don't want the humidity over 85 percent or so for growing, but still need higher to stimulate pinning. It helps to wrinkle the sheet of wax paper up first, then flatten it out and use it. That will help more air exchange to get to the surface of your casing layer. RR

No casing layer is going to be applied. Should I take out the wax paper then? Thanks rodger.
Thought it wouldnt get soggy because the paper is covered in wax?

If your humidity is real high anyway, the wax paper will have little effect. When you do need to use wax paper, you must change it out every two days. Even with the wax coating, it will get soggy. RR

You get less airflow with wax paper, so cobweb is more of a problem if you can't lift it up every day when you air them out or fan. Might be best to leave the wax paper off while you're gone. RR
