you only need 1-2 i think.
over innoculating will add too much water.

yes, you can use too much spore solution.
the water content in your jars is critical. too much spore solution and the jar is now too wet.
too much? Don't know for sure. I would say that 5cc is too much. 3cc may even be too much.
Stick to the 1cc per 1/2 pint idea. More solution most likely will not speed anything up, just slow it down.

yes there is such a thing as using too much...
using too much will alter your substrate content of your jar making it too wet.
I never use more than 2 cc in a 1/2 pint jar.

Kinda depends on what you mean by inoculation. If you mean spores, then yes. Too many spores results in generally poor performance even though the jar might 'colonize' sooner, if you define colonization as being all white. Needless time and energy are expended in the process of anastomosis as the strains combine. Since some strains are not capable of diaryotic pairings, they fruit as separate zones on the substrate. This is why sometimes with multispore inoculation you get odd looking fruits that don't match the majority of the rest of the flushes, or second and third flushes look totally different from first flush.
Of course, another problem is if you get too much water and screw up your moisture content. Wet jars colonize slower.
With liquid culture, the more the better as long as you don't get the substrate too wet.
Best is to follow the pf tek to the letter. Experiment after you get a few grows down doing things the proven way. RR

I think once can get away with even half a cc, if maybe you put a quarter cc in two opposite points, though it seems 1mL is the status quo.

So this is a strain-specific issue? And are you refering to multiple sources of the same strain of spores or different strain?
