This is OT, but how the frick can I put my music on my Myspace page?
The Myspace help only tells me how to put someone else's music (from their preexisting myspace page) on my site. It's just dumb.
Quote:
Q. How do I add a song from a Myspace artist to my profile? How do I remove it? A. Adding a song is easy. Visit Myspace Music (http://music.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=music) and find a song you want to add. If the artist has given permission to share the music, you'll see an "Add" link next to the song. Click "Add" and the song will play on your profile! Only one song can be added to your profile at one time.
WELL THAT'S FUCKING GREAT, I CAN ADD SOMEONE ELSE'S MUSIC TO MY PAGE WITH EASE.

PS: What's up with the dead people? Jack Kerouac has a MySpace page, and so does Arthur Rimbaud! They must have finally gotten the after-life wired for broadband...

Thanks!
I'm seriously surprised that I created a MySpace page today. I didn't think I'd ever jump onto that bandwagon, but I noticed some "professional types" setting up pages for themselves, and I was bored today, so there ya go...
I think it will be an interesting experiment, and probably be a fun diversion...
BTW: Does anyone know how to further customize a MySpace page? I noticed some people had some pretty radical designs. Is that all accomplished by carefully placed HTML, or what? Like how would one add a background, change their layout? Is it that user-modifiable, where would the HTML go? Is there a website with customization info?
Thanks in advance!

Well good for us.. I do: The Shroomery. Although I want get into myspace at some time. Did you find out if you're going to the Burning Man Transform-us gathering? Tickets are $55 now, and stop selling at the end of the month( if they don't sell out first) It looks amazing, I just can't decide if I want to commit.

I know nothing about it, but I know you can spend countless hours there customizing your website. Have fun!
The only reason I haven't made one, is because I don't like a concentrated information page with a whole lot about me on it. Plus I'd get slammed and rant off in the journal, and the wrong people might read it.

Your first point did concern me -- as this growing info-sphere has concerned me for years now -- but I've slowly come to the conclusion that there is more to be gained by joining in it, than in fighting it (in a luddite sense), but I still am a bit of a techno-reactionary; a sort of break-man on the great circus train of the glorious revolution, if you will...
Your second point has also been a cause for concern for me; especially with my past LiveJournal blog. I know I've come very close to going off the deep end there a few times in the past, but I think I've managed to self-censor and control myself a little bit. Probably not enough, but that's life...
