So ive been tyring to get additional insurance on my mothers car for a while. She eventualy went thru with it and got a quote.
She pays almost 200$ a month for a 1994 camry, and for me to drive it aswell, its gonna cost $350 for me to drive it from now until august.
Thats over $100 a month for ME to drive it, as a secondary driver for a fuckin 1994 camry.
Basicaly gonna be over $300 a month to have it on the road so both my moms and I can drive it.
Is something wrong here? Is my moms getting ripped off with this shit? Or hsuld I just pay the shit and start cruising?

your moms insurance seems a bit high to start with but if your are under 25 you pay high premiums to begin with, rates drop after 25 and 32 for men. ou're only paying an additional $100 as a secondary so it's the group discount of sorts and just pay the shit because you probably wont find it any cheape, insurance is a scam anyway

Ive been telling to shop around and get better insurance. Shes gotten a couple speeding tickets, and a couple little crashes but it was never her fault. 192$ seems way too high for a 12 year old sedan.
I dont know... maybe shes paying the high premium because it covers anything and everything? Insurance is fuckin gay.
I'm 19 BTW.

doesnt matter if she was at fault, they still jack up the rates, and if she's getting full coverage for $200/mo, thats a reasonable rate

it depends if your state allows the cop to ask for insurance. some states can only have the cop ask for the insurance, but not actualy require proof.

bad idea.. if it isnt insured for you to drive, then youre driving uninsured. which, as you know, is a crime. :P

if the car is insured you wont get a ticket for not having any, if you have a wreck, you could be fucked. the insurance wouldnt pay for either vehicle and the other driver could sue the piss out of you, BTW, incase you weren't aware, liability or no fault insurance wont pay to repair or replace yours.

Well, turns out we were both mistaken, its gonna cost me lass than $200 from now until the end of august.
That, I can afford, and its only like what 70$ extra a month.
Im down with that. Its been effective since june 6th too.
Anyway, were gonna do this for now, and I think end of august my mother is going to shop around for some more friendly insurance.
