Thermo-Hygrometer
    #5732557 - 06/09/06 10:53 PM (17 years, 7 months ago)

Hey all i went and bought a thermo-hygrometer (measures temperature and humidity digitally.) from my local pets store, Its pretty small and velcro's on to the side, its made for a reptile cage but i figure it will serve the purpose and work fine. Im building a PMP, (poor mans pod) and was wondering if i should put it towards the top of the container or down towards the bottom of the container where the cakes are going to be? Or in the middle??? Lol im not sure. Thanks!

Call me nuts but I would think you'd want to measure the temps where the fruits are going to be.

The majority of those digi hygrometers are crap. They read 'hi' or '88888' over about 90%. Test yours soon so you can return for credit if it's one of the bad ones. I think hippiechick has a Taylor unit that works. You might search using her name and Taylor to see if you can find a model number. I prefer the mechanical hygrometers because you can calibrate them for 99%, making them extremely accurate at high humidities.

i tested mine put the shower on hot for like 10 minutes and put it in the bathroom it went up to about 97% humidity so im figuring it works pretty well. I also just let it sit out and its reading about the same temp as my ac unit is reading on the thermastat.
