Thanks LBL!  That was actually one of the first Cubes that I ever found.  It's from late last year, so I hope that's not cheating.

Too bad my photo skills weren't quite up to snuff back then though, but the "forum Smartass" helped me out with all that business.

I've been hunting in the Pensacola greater area and have come to the conclusion that there are just too many shroom hunters around here. All of the fields have become too popular and seemingly picked dry. I headed out to four fields in on night last weekend and only came out with eight caps. Major suckage... :werd:

Hehe... Here's Big Woody himself, full grown, just before harvest, weighing in at exactly 55.55g fresh (the biggest mushroom I have found was also a woody, found within 10ft. of where big woody grew, weighing in at ~72g. It was very old and decaying, as it's stem had snapped under it's own weight. At the time, Woody was not a recognized strain of Psilocybe cubensis). Next to him is Mamma Woody, who eventually gave birth to the first Woody spores:

I have more pics, but I don't want to take up too much space.
How do I put in thumbnails? (kind of sad... I should know how to do this by now)

Damn that's a big mushroom!

Went hunting with Nero today and found only 2 cubes and a couple of pins that were left to grow. We found some pretty cool lepiotas though.

I went out yesterday south of Houston and found probably 15-20 cubes of varying sized, no camera unfortunately.

"Even after all this rain things still seem kinda slow after such a dry spell"

Agreed, I was expecting to come back with bags full after the last week of rain but a few is better than none I suppose. We can only hope for some more consistent showers.

Hey everyone, just wanted to post some pics from my hunt in College Station last night.  Its been a while since i have been hunting but i thought the conditions were good enough to make the trip so i went.  And im glad i did =)

Sorry there are no habitat shots, but i like to hunt at night. If i get a better camera in the future, ill take some.  Or if i go during the day.

In the car, at 4am checking my finds...they look good

Cube...Sweet.

Fat bastard

Laying out to dry

Yay for cubes and weed! :mushroom2: :bigweed:

I might go back tomorrow so there might be more to come!
I love Texas!

I'm going to try hunting at night myself, any pointers on the subject?

I'm used to hunting during the day and well, my field definetly seems to be over crowded now and I know of a lot of fields but they are so open to the public. Ninja hunting seems to be my best bet with them.

You guys are so lucky! I've been on almost a dozen shrooming outings and still have yet to find any mushrooms whatsoever!
