is my casing el finito?!! help?

so i certainly wasnt keeping the humidity high enough right after i cased the crumbled g.t. cakes in a 50/50+ mix. i also put a very deep layer on. then after the first flush when mushrooms only grew on the opposite edges of the casing, i put another layer over the whole thing (cuz im dum) and then didnt start spraying until way late. tho the humidity from then on has been between 80-85%. the 2nd flush was less of the same, the TWO mushies that sprouted got really elongated very quickly, and one of them actually grew out of the casing altogether.

im spraying it tons now, keeping the hum. @ 85% right on, but i see no mycelial growth in the casing layer, which has not been overtaken with mycelium at all.

can anyone help me? what do i do now?

and if this IS it for the myc., is there any reason i couldnt take the bottom layer, dry it, chop it up and put it in chocolates?

Sounds like the layer is to thick and you have sealed the casing layer. Try taking a sterile fork and raking off the casing layer and reapplying a new 1/2 inch 50/50 layer. The fruiting will be delayed but all isnt lost yet.:)bluhoney

cool, i just logged on to pose that exact idea. i have sterile 50/50 in half pint jars waiting. how long of a delay? i mean, its been a week since ive seen any growth... and could i go a bit less than half inch safely?
