Some more photo's for ya's.
these were found in light coloured shaved wood ships, allmost ash colour. They bruise an orange colour. and the tops look very much like subs to me? but because there is no blue in them at all i am confused. Currently in the process of doing a spore test, will get back with the results of that later. Is it possible to get in-active subs?

What area were they found in?
They don't look like any actives to me...
If you mean subbalteatus they arent even close.
If you would have posted a location at least, I would know if you were talking about subaeruginosa or subbalteauts.

Those aren't subs man.
You said yourself they don't bruise blue so they can't possibly be subs. Right? No need to be confused. No blue bruising = no magic.
Not to be rude, man, but (correct me if I'm wrong) it feels like you haven't done much research.

Spend some time scrolling through the Melbourne 2006 finds thread:

Plenty of pics and info on subs.

Fair call, i am by no means unintelligent, its just that i enjoy taking pictures, i am not asking to be spoon fed, and if a mod pm'd me saying "stop making so many id threads" i would cease. But in the mean time i figured it would be good to at least get some photo's out there... *shrugs*

They look similar, but one thing I find with subs is that they are very distinctive looking, that jumps out at you after you have had a few finds. There's a general look to them that you cant really read about- experience will get you there.
For these ones - only the one one the left is close enough to merit a closer look. The caps the wrong tinge and the flatness looks a little off, also the stem isnt that nice clean white that subs get.
I told people who were helping me to hunt on a field trip - if they see a brown mushroom with a very white stalk that it deserves a look. The stalks are one of the predominant features I use to check for subs whist hunting. Its not a positive ID feature, its just something I find helps me sort them easily from the other LBM's.
Here's a pic of mine, showing the whiteness of the stalks with some nice blueing too.

Good luck man.
Hasn't been much rain lately so things are a little dry. Next week looks good though.

They look kinda like Aussie galerina but withiout the annular ring - maybe its a local variant that doesnt have an annular ring, but those are likely deadly (could also be a crowded-gilled cortinarius as well)
