kitty wants to slilence her humidifier but she doesnt know how and the easest way to so. she has a cool mist springline or what they got at k-mart

noise usually implies mechanical age and soon failure.

it happens, they burn out.
If you modified it, make sure to have two outlet tubes, not just one.
want to reduce back pressure.

go buy a new one.
bring it home.
take out the old motor and impeller unit.
clean it up.
switch them out.
return the old noisy one stating that it is too loud for you.
say no to an exchange.
you'll get a better one at wal-mart, if they ask.

there you go.
keep your modified base as is, just switch the motors.

I put a pillow on the intake with a weight on top it helps a lot and does not restric the air too much, i dont know if this will shortn the motor life but mines been good for over 4 months and i got it well used.
