Fucken Brazil. Ah well ... at the end of the day they were the ones who scored the goals.
Australia held out pretty well though. Man, I really hope we have the marbles against Croatia.
Man, I can't stand Italians when it comes to soccer. Shifty bastards. Kudos to USA for holding out to em with 9 men.

I was at Federation Square in Melbourne. The vibe quickly went to shit 4 minutes into the second half. A real bummer man.
And then some dude let a flare off right next to me. I was looking straight at it - the fucker nearly blinded me, it was like staring into the sun. Not to mention the fact that I was enveloped in red smoke for about 2 minutes.
When the game ended, a Brazilian supporter got up on his mates shoulders and started yelling, "Fuck Australia. We beat you. Fuck Australia." Somebody in the crowd piffed a half-full water bottle at him and it smacked him nicely in the side of the face. Karma can be a bitch.

If someone did that in England they WOULD end up in the hospital.

True. In Australia we use plastic projectiles. In England ... glass.

OK ... the important matches on tonight:
Germany v Ecuador -- a tough one to pick as both sides have already guaranteed their spots in the final 16.
England v Sweden -- another interesting match. Both teams have been unimpressive and I'd say are pretty closely matched. England do have Rooney back though with Owen up front (Crouch the lanky fuck will be sitting this one out).
With the teams in both games so evenly matched this is going to be some good watchin'.

Crouch will come in for the 2nd half.
I reckon it'll be 1-1.
As for Germany Ecuador, tough to say. I think Germany will win though.

1-1 or 1-0 to England.
Would be crazy if England have to play Germany in the next round.

with a bit of luck this Walcott kid will turn out to be a worthy striker - he'll have to play against Ecuador as there's nobody else left. that goofy Crouch kid is a sideshow freak, not a 90-minute striker. but all is not lost. the back is not as solid as it should be and needs luck, but our midfield is mighty, and we have Rooney plus students up front.
16 teams left, four knockout games to go: England v Ecuador - we should win this England v ?Holland/Portugal - probably 50/50 or better England v ?Brazil/Spain - tough game England v ?Argentina/Germany (final) - hmmmm.

England's defence has to be up there with the worst of the tournament, especially in set pieces. How the shit did they manage to concede that final goal against Sweden?
Argentina v Holland game proved to be boring as well. I fell asleep at half-time and woke up in time for the final 5 minutes.
Mexico v Portugal proved to be frustrating, considering I wanted Mexico to win. How did that loser miss that penalty? It didn't even hit to post or the keeper. What a fuck up. And then he missed another opportunity as well later on.
Germany kicked ass, even though you could see Ecuador couldn't have cared.
Big game for Australia tonight against Croatia. Apparently we only need a draw to proceed to the final 16 but I'm hoping we win to get our confidence back up.
Fingers crossed.
