Yes, many fans whistling C.Ronaldo weren't English. I guess hating someone because he's one of the best players in the world is a common feeling. Probably it's a way to display fear, an ugly way, to say the least. But, lol, you make me laugh when you say nobody likes Portugal. Reason: the media. Brazil was with us, Mexico was with us, Spain was with us, Venezuela and even South Africa. Anyway, you probably didn't watch it, or ear it on the news, "your" news. That's your problem, you only get half of the facts, or only those that suit best your nationalist biased media.
You know what ? I don't give a flying fuck. I know Portugal was "the ugly little duck" in this world cup. "What ? Such a small and 3rd world country with such a good football ?" Of course they couldn't win, at least everything was done to make people believe the Portuguese team was indisciplined and cocky. This 4th place is like winning the world cup for us Portuguese. The strength, the technique and the hearts of those players were praised and will be remembered for many years to come.

LMAO !!! You make laugh so hard man. You know what's worst than getting whooped by Germany and getting "only" the 4th place ? Is getting knocked out of such a big competition, like the world cup or the euro, over and over again by the same team, and not even getting to the semi-finals.

No I'm talking about the fact that he dives alone more than all the Italians put together...hands covering his face, faking agony..
No one beats the Italians when it comes to diving and faking, no one ! See, stereotyping It can be applied to any team. Once you put inside your mind they are a bunch of "divers", most faults will be seen in such way. Like the French coach, which was compulsively making the "diving" gesture EVERY fucking time a Portuguese player felt into the ground, be it for real or fake.

My intelligence is feeling a little insulted here - I came into the tournament an unbiased outsider. After watching a good deal of the games, I really felt like C. Ronaldo is one of the worst divers of them all. I think the announcers were right when they pointed out that it's just because he's young...but he's the most annoying diver of them all. He would stay on the ground with his arms outstretched with a look of incredulity on his face...he needs to learn to jump up and get back into playing mode right away if he doesn't get the call. It just sours the mood of the game otherwise.

In the 2006 FIFA World Cup, Portugal set a record for the number of yellow cards received by a national team in a single world cup: 24 in total.

Hey, you're probably right. But if you want to add something to an intelligent view about all this, you'll have to analyse and quantify how many times C.Ronaldo faked those faults, means facts. I was watching this analysis as of yesterday on TV about that same accusation, but regarding the whole team. Only in the last two games you can see a substantial increase on those faked faults, and the fact is both France and Germany had a similar number of faked faults if you compare it with Portugal. The reason they came up with (which i don't fully subscribe) was that the players faking more faults were the ones that played the most, tiredness seems to have something to do with the number of such faults. Of course this is not an excuse, but i know all those players from watching them playing in their clubs, and they are not known as "divers" but as skillful players.

Almost half of those cards were given in the Holland vs Portugal game. Portugal had not received a single red crad since the last world cup in 2002.
Talking about records, Portugal is also the only team defending 3 penalty kicks to decide an play-off.

You're not proving it on the field, but yes, England is a superior team. They lack some heart (that's for latinos ) but has superior strength. IMHO their biggest problem is their coach and their coaching team.

Well Sven has gone now, being replaced by Steve McClaren, who is English.
Hopefully he'll let England play to their full potential. I'm looking forward to it.

as would have the netherlands, had they won against portugal and advanced to the semi-finals... it was that one game in which almost everybody got a yellow card... get some perspective, man... but that would be tough for you, because the netherlands advancing to the semi-finals would have meant beating you guys so you would have your panties just as bunched up as you have them now against portugal...

ecuador should have won the most entertaining team award... the mere fact that they made beckham puke from exhaustation should be enough... but they weren't even nominated...
