2 of those 4 years are spent playing "league" games that entitle what teams go to the world cup.

the rest of the time they are busy diving, crying, dating models, driving sports cars, doing photo shoots, and making millions.

Ah. Interesting. I'm actually getting somewhat interested in soccer now, too bad the world cup is practically over

I won't argue with you dude, but, looking closely at the replays, Henry was fouled. His fall after the foul was a little theatrical, I admit, but there clearly was contact ... and thus: foul.

Associated Press Posted: 2 hours ago
Portugal coach Luiz Felipe Scolari, who rants and raves throughout every game with his arms waving around like windmills, angrily wagged his finger at Larrionda after the game and was held back from getting at the referee.
After the game, he conceded that the Carvalho's challenge on Henry was a penalty. But he was adamant his team should have had one, too.
"It was a penalty. We can't contest it," Scolari said of the Carvalho foul.

There's also the European championships, which also happen every 4 years. The next Euro is 2008.

you know i met a couple of Irish guys after the Ecuador - England game... and well all of them had ecuadorian flags except one... he came up to me "heeeeey man ecuador rocks... too bad you guys lost, you deserved to win. you were the better team... hey you know i had an ecuadorian flag, too... but one of these english fucks traded it with me... so you know what i did with the english flag?" so he pulls out his camera and shows me pictures...
turns out he went into the bar where all the english were celebrating the unearned victory... he went to the bathroom and put the english flag open into the toilet... and shat right into the middle of the cross...
the mere thought of all the englishmen's faces after seeing such a beautiful piece of art still makes me giggle...

Awesome.

I had to investigate on google what this whole diving fiasco was.. lol. I can't believe people are getting away with that kind of sportsmanship in such a high profile tournament

does anyone care? do the teams themselves even care if they come 3rd or 4th? i'll probably watch it but only because it's there on TV.
