powdery mildew ~ need help!

powdery mildew. its such a bitch. afoaf has had it before. killed a crop. now he has it again on g daddy purp. indoors. ventilation is great. humidity is alway between 38% and 55%. also, there in the 2nd week of veg. from clones. another friend also got these clones from the same club at the same time with me and also has powdery mildew, so im sure the grower/ club got it, not us. afoaf has mildew cure, but it seems like he has to spray leaves everyday, and he thinks that this could be a huge problem during flowering. i heard a baking soda mixture with water would bring pH of leaves to a neutral 7 and that this would inhibit mildew growth. will this clog the pores in leaves? should he just dip whole clones inside this solution? also, he just spent about 200 dollars on a dehumidifier, but it only has 2 settings - 45 -55% and 55 -65%, so he figures he will return this dehumidifier because his humidity is already in this range. any ideas on how to get rid of this shit? please help! thank you shroomery

The leaves should be ok. There is a product called Serenade that is made to get rid of it but the soda should work. When you do treat it get rid of the top layer of soil also. The spores drop down and cover the top of the soil. The spores can also hide dormant anyplace in the room. The powder mold also hates bright light so you'll notice it usually starts in the dimmest part of the room.

yeah "he" just bought yet another light because the mildew is usually on the perimiter : ) so this should erradicate the mildew pretty much? does anyone know how much soda to water i should use? thank you both : ) ps pacman - the cure that he has right now is mostly garlic with some cotton seed oil etc. its cool, but he doesnt want to have to spray everyday until harvest (or 2 weeks before, i should say). but thanks for the soap tip, i always forget to add soap : )

I use to mod the mushroom cult but stopped growing them and I'm one who believes a mod should be doing a little of the subject he (or her) mods.
