damprid--waiting period

I've always fanned them for a day or so before putting them in with the desiccant (i use silica packets). you might end up with a bunch of wet damprid if you go straight from picking. if i were you i'd fan them for a good 24 hours first.

i fan them for two days, then damp rid them until they crack under my fingers, usually two days.

Yeah, damprid is just to finish them off. Like they said fan dry and then damprid

Depending on your ambient humidity, it may take more than two days in front of the fan. Just fan dry until they feel totally dry, then go to desiccant until crispy.
