from the point you shoot in the spores
without incubating it'll take around a month
once they are fully covered in white, wait three days then you can fruit them
waiting is good so you know that the inside is colonized too

replace a 1/4 of the water to make up the jars with coffee. It made mine colonize alot faster, good tip.

adding coffee works great, see the "speeding pf grows" link in my sig
i do like to use 25% coffee/75% water though instead of all coffee, too much coffee lowers the pH of your substrate significantly making it acidic, and makes it more contam prone. you certainly can use all coffee and it will work great if it comes out, just a little riskier (especially if you steam sterilize instead of PC).

You can always add a pinch of hydrated lime to balance the ph after adding coffee. I don't know what it is about coffee, but the stuff works. I use dilute coffee at 50% drinking strength to hydrate my rye berries. I add 1/2 teaspoon of hydrated garden lime to each two gallons of soak water/coffee.
If you use full strength coffee, it actually slows down growth, whether or not you lime it for ph. RR

I am sorry I should have been more specific when I said coffee, not the grounds just the liquid, glad others caught that and I believe it was creamcoern`s guild that is in his sig that I use for mine TY CC. It has some more tips that help as well. I can testify to that.

i kinda have the same question, i have my jars inoculated and in the incubator i made from the TEK'S here keep the temp on the thermometer at 80 because in the TEK'S it says wrapping with blankets and the jars themselves keep in heat raising the temp to around 86 degrees. I have had my jars in there for about 5 days now and dont really see anything, should i see something by now?

I was kinda impatient and took the cake out when it became fully covered in white, but did not wait the extra three days. Then I dunked it and rolled in dry vermiculite the next day. Then I sprayed it with water and put in my green house. Did I mess up by taking it out too early, or will it still grow fine?

The only problem might be humidity, I think. I can't get it higher than 85%, maybe because I didn't seal the humidifier well enough. Would this affect growth time?
