Family Crests
    #5723580 - 06/07/06 05:00 PM (17 years, 7 months ago)

Anyone knows what theirs is? I'd seen mine before, but my mom sent me a copy of it today. Our families pretty old, our earliest traceable relatives came to the United States in 1680. But here's the family crest from my British relatives:

Weird, huh?

My family is very into geneology. Like, REALLY into it; my aunt learned how to read archaic German cursive so she could decipher ship manifests and shit.

However, that crest isn't hard to tell the legitimacy of; it belongs to my English relatives who came here in the late 1800's, and we know lots about them.

I would never in a million years get a tattoo.

One of my buddies got his crest tatooed and it looks sharp save the fact it is that lion on two feet that you see everywhere

Your mother's side is the Through the Looking Glass worm? That'd be fuckin' cool. Edit: Okay, I see it now.

Like the colors on your father's crest... I wonder what the colors on mine look like? I'll ask my mom if she's got a color copy.

Hey, I have an idea. Let's make crests for Shroomery members. I'm working one up for Learyfan right now.

Yeah sorry I had to edit out the name on my mothers maiden name crest. I stupidly posted it up at first.

A colored photo would be awesome man. Family history is an extremely fascinating topic. :yesnod:

You need to somehow make a symbol for a trance tent and put it in there, too.

Trode, Mattz, Cool as fuck!! I don't have a clue as to what my family crest looks like. I'll have to ask my mom. It's her birthday today. Yay mom!!

Happy birthday to your mom man. :birthday:

You can do a google search: "Last name coat of arms" or "Last name family crest". :chugbeer:

If you have a common family name, does everyone with that name share the same crest?  Like, do all Smiths have the same family seal?  I'm replying to Matt, but if anyone knows, please chime in.

p.s.  Happy Birthday to BlissedOut's mom!  :sun:  :sun:

That's a very good question that I don't have an answer to. :frown: Hopefully somebody will.

However traditionally I believe coat of arms were given to somebody and then passed down through the generations. There's some information on wikipedia regarding coat of arms.
