a sad sad day... What im going to have to do for $2,340
    #5723340 - 06/07/06 03:57 PM (17 years, 7 months ago)

yep, a sad day indeed. I officially listed my turntables, spare car, speakers, and amps for sale, along with a few other things.  ( all in the marketplace ! )

I have a great business plan on the deck right now. and im trying to put all i can into it. its a realestate deal.

its killing me, im going to be broke for about 4 months, but after that ill have all of my money back, with about 160 acres of land. plus the bueiness plan requires lots of investors, mostly my family as it seems. But they all get paid back all of their $ they put in plus 75%

this should be an interesting few months.

Also if anyone wants to throw in like $40 grand, that would be great  hahaha

peace

thanks, shame is that the amount i need i dont really even need. its mostly a buffer in the plan incase shit goes wrong. i could just contribute less, but i want my share of the pie ya know?

this is a shame though, a dj selling his decks, is like a porn star cutting off his dick and selling it.

At least you'll get the money back to buy your DJ gear again...not so lucky if you're the pornstar.  :smirk:

Awesome.  I'm writing an observational essay, for english class.  I'm "observing" an event that happened a few weeks ago.

The teacher was shocked by how good my previous essay was and is now eagerly awaiting this one, which means I have to continue the high level of excellence I continually spew forth through my fingertips.

yeah i supose, but in all honesty you can actually legally take over about 160 acres if you wanted to under the desert land entry act. same thing as the homestead act, but its still on the book.

only problem is that itll cost you about 20g's

oh, well if youre interested heres the info, its called the desert entry act.

it involves you taking over 160 acres per member of your family (up to 320 acres total) of land in the desert. it will roughly cost you $20,000 all in all to own 160 acres in the end, and you have to farm it, and water it (its possible, but remember its the desert)

kind of the same thing as the homestead act, but that ended in 1980 somthing

Quote:
If my application is approved, how many years will I have to meet the requirements of the desert land act?
You have four years from the date your application is approved to develop an adequate water supply to reclaim, irrigate, and cultivate all of the lands. One eighth of the land applied for must be properly cultivated and irrigated.

So...They'll give me 160 acres of semi arid land, if which I only have to irrigate 20 acres over the next four years.

There needs to be the question:
"Can I irrigate the minimum of twenty acres, and sell the remaining 140 to whatever entity i desire?"

well, from my phone convo with the BLM, what they said is that that you only have to have that 1/8th in the first year, but for the property to be turned over to you, you actually have to farm all but 17% of it.

i wish i had the link to the actual legislation, but it was created in the 1800's and im not sure if it is even online. i havent really had time to investigate it too much, as i have other plans on the burners.
