"The definition of biological efficiency in mushroom cultivation is:
1000 grams fresh weight from 1000 grams dry Substrate is 100% biological efficiency.
This definition was first used by the Agaricus industry to be able to compare different grow setups and Substrate compositions.
Note that this is not a true efficiency in thermodynamical terms.
Psilocybe cubensis is easily somewhere in the range of 200% BE."

Found this  here

It says 1000gs fresh weight from 1000gs dry substrate is 100%BE

What's fresh weight from dry substrate? lol

I'm trying to figure out my BE, but I don't know what I should be weighing exactly.

The dry substrate weight (like wbs before you soak/simmer?)...Then weigh the dry fruits and go from there?

I understand it from the most part, just don't get the dry sub. part

TIA

I don't know for sure, but I am pretty sure my BE is under 100....

basically you weight your wbs dry add it to your poo before you hydrate and pasturize (if you use poo). weight the wet mushrooms. if you are weighing them dry then you need to take that into account as they will weigh 10 times less. so you only end up with 20% BE(dry mushrooms)

i also have to get into this. next time i do a batch of wbs. there no real reason to do so its just interesting to see how efficient you are.

@ 100% BE, 10 lbs of DRY h/poo substrate will = 10 lbs of fresh fruits (wet weight).
@ 200% BE...double that. @ 300% BE triple that.
I don't figure in the dry weight of grain spawn added
But, one could, if you wanted to be exact.
My first grow did well over 100% BE (wbs spawned to h/poo & cased 50/50).
