I am conducting an experiment on the electrical conductivity of Reishi.

Fitting a sound input device into the trunk of a specimen of dried whole Chinese Reishi I have discovered that it transports energy from my hand and causes sound to emit from an amp. Touching the Reishi with the wood end of a knife causes no such reaction at all. It is interesting to note that what many would condiser to be a dead inanimate chunk of woody material is actually capable of acting as a path for some energy(electrical I suppose) to travel through .
Touching the trunk as oppose to the cap causes the speaker to emit a definite organic buzz. I imagine that touching a Cubensis mushroom as it grows would connect you to the mycelial network at a much higher level of conductivity as Cubensis mushrooms are mostly water and are often moist skinned .

Man this is absolutely fascinating. I'd like to know more about the equipment you're using, so maybe I can re-create this. I wonder what it would do when reishi is growing...

I love this place so much, thanks for sharing and I can't wait to hear more... where and how did you come up with the idea? Have you tried any other organisms (broccoli, a tomato, maybe even a toothbrush? just for controls to see if it's unique at all...)
This is a really cool post. Many thanks again, light and love, JD

I came up with the idea from reading about tests on plants to see if they have sentience by hooking them up to galvanometers(peice of lie detecting equipment) and watching them respond to various experimental stimuli . Anyway I dont think Reishi is particularly special in reacting like it did in my experiment but it was still cool to see that it transported energy from me.Yeah, FYI the last picture is just a fun picture not really 'real' . I used to hold this Reishi(I keep it cos it looks nice) one hand on either end of the cap then meditate and do Chinese lessons .
I will post more later but gotta do some gardening.
