Today i went for a wander into the pine forrest. I know alot of these are just toadstools and stuff. but i thought it might be a lil bit entertaining to have a squiz.
And of course if i have stumbled across the "Blue Meanie" ive been looking 4 please tell me!
This one was purple, it had been out in the sun to long, but thought it looked cool

I think these two are the same kind, the second one was really soggy, and it was releasing a slime that smelt like rotting flesh, it was quite disgusting!

 little toadie i think

Biggest of the bunch i picked

I think this is a soggy version of the previous one, it was turnig blue though, anything in it ya rekon?

this one was weird in the fact that the spores were like a sponge style, lots of little dots....

^^^^^^^^^^^^ Blue meanie?

 ^^^^^^^^^^
this one looked edible.

Another really large mushie

this one had a really strong orange on the bottom, sorry bout fuzzy pick. (bloody snoopy house mates!)

 ^^^^^^^ got nething here?
Thats the last of them boys and girls...
Hope you had a good time looking through them, hope it didnt take too long out of your day!

the red and orange ones with the white warts on the caps are Amanita Muscaria - an active mushroom but very diff from the 'shrooms' that u'd most likely hear people talking about, do some research on www.erowig.org they are the reason Santa wears white and red

do research, u have to heat dry them properly or make a strong boiled tea, do research, u can have positive experiences but it wont be like shrooms most people take recreationally, go to that website and look up the name of them, it'll have experience reports and everything u need to know, just save them by drying them start now so they dont rot, but u must do a bit of research to know what they are about....happy shrooming!!

That spongey one is called a Bolete, they have pores that drop spores instead of the gills common of most mushrooms. Also looks like you have a few diff Amanitas, and the mushrooms- one with the blueing soggy gills, and the other fresh counterpart... I want to say Rusulla, but it doesn't fit... I'm gonna go with Gomphidius oregonensis, I think.

For the first one, the purple one, it's not possible to be sure if they are the same as those red ones just by looking at the top of the cap. Could be another Amanita that faded to that color, or something else.
The red ones do indeed appear to be Amanitas.
A spore print would be helpful on the third type.
The fourth type/set down is a Lactarius. (pictures named mush1.jpg, mush2.jpg, mush14.jpg, and mush13.jpg) Some species are edible, some poisonous. Not a good genus for beginners to consume. There are more than one species of Lactarius that can have a blue/green latex. That is what causes the coloration.
The pored one is some type of Bolete as mentioned. Cut it in half down the middle and check for blue bruising. No the blue would not be a sign of an active for boletes. It would mean that there is a good chance of it being poisonous.
For the 6th type/set, what was it growing on, etc? give us a complete description for that one. See the rules thread for the info we need.
7th type/set looks like a possible Agaricus. Can't be sure, again fill out the required ID info.
The next two, it's impossible to tell, we need to see the gills at least, and need more ID info to go on.
After that I see another Amanita. For these Amanitas, we need a better look at the base of the stem, to help with species ID. There is more than one type of red Amanita.
After the Amanita is what looks like another Lactarius (the set that includes the blurry picture - mush25.jpg and mush26.jpg).
For the rest, give us more info.
Also please note that by 4th type, I mean the fourth species down, not the 4th picture down. Same goes for the other paragraphs that are numbered.
Might be easier to follow if you labeled them with a number, each type that is.
Whew, that was a lot of typing.. I hope you know which pictures I am referring to. If not please ask.
There are no actives in there.. as fas as psilocybin actives go.
I'd say none of them should be eaten. Even if we could confirm that those are Muscarias (which I don't feel confident ever saying without seeing the base of the stem well), I'd still advise agaisnt consuming.

CureCat, the Lactarius genus can look very similar to some Russulas, so I can understand your confusion. A lot of Lactarius species have a milky latex that sometimes exudes from the gills and other parts of the mushroom. They also have a unique look that you get used to after seeing so many times over the years.
I have found some blue Lactarius species.. there are pictures in my photo gallery.
Here is more info on them http://www.ilmyco.gen.chicago.il.us/Taxa/LactaGenus89.html
Gomphidius oregonensis has a viscid cap, and persistent veil remnants on the stem that are visible in a lot of cases. http://www.mykoweb.com/CAF/species/Gomphidius_oregonensis.html

Huh, alrighty, thanks for the info I'll check it out!
I did notice the viscid cap in some of the Gomphidius, but because not all presented with it, I figured the one above had lost it. Hmmm, I'll go see how the rusullas and lactarius compare

The 6th type set (the small purple looking one) was growing by itself on the ground in pine tree mulch.

youve got all sorts there - the blue/green staining mushroom is lactarius deliciousa or what ever its called - pretty tasty apparently, but some people get a crook guts from it. As others have said the spongy one is a bolete, the warted red capped mushroom is ofcourse Amanita Muscara and youve got what looks like some cortinarius and mycena species, etc.
