noob ? on the coarsness of verm

the only vermiculite I could find was the finest type its kinda like sand .. does anyone for seeing that to be a pro. I read the coarseness may be a factor.. by the way its for wbs casings

also I like to ad that I simmered my wbs today and jar em and am goin g to wait to tommorow to pc them. that by me waiting over night it wont screw sumtin up ,right?

yeah, it might.

pc now if you can.

well, maybe you'll get some sprouted grains.
you'll be fine, I've done worse.

I use fine verm for some things.
like the top layer on cake jars, if I ever do them.
You'll be okay.
may want to add a touch less than 50%, maybe like 40-45.

should work.
look into ordering some medium verm.
someone else can get you a better link than I.
I payed way too much.

If you're waiting to pc...

I suggest soaking over simmering.
the time envolved with soaking is what people don't like.
If you have the time...soak.

not now though. you're good

I did both.... I read it on doc ek for wbs but it didnt ever say anything about waiting over night

All I have is the really fine verm too. I havent used it for my casing yet, but the jars that I cooked have all come out very nicely. I dont think that you will have any issues with the finer verm. (If you do - do tell!) I will post my results as well when I have some :smile:

coarse is WAY better then fine... fine will work... I suggest looking very hard for coarse in the future.
