Highest concentration of active chemicals - Stems or Caps?

Just curious. Do active mushrooms have a high concentration of active chemicals in the caps or stems? Is there no difference at all?
I've been told the caps have a higher concentration of active chemicals, but I've found no proof to back that statement up. Anyone have any clue? Any references?

No they both have the same content of the active chemical. If the cap has more volume than the stem it may be true..but then you'd just be consuming more.

Bill Clinton "A smoker would theoretically have to consume nearly fifteen hundred pounds of marijuana within about 15 minutes to induce a lethal response... In strict medical terms, marijuana is far safer than many of the foods we commonly consume. For example, eating ten raw potatoes can result in a toxic response. By comparison, it is physically impossible to eat enough marijuana to induce death." DEA Administrative Law Judge Francis L. by weight - its the same.
I think people think that caps have more then stems, is because 1g of caps looks like a smaller ammount than 1g of stems -- in the end, its still a gram though.

Caps have a slightly elevated amount of psilocybin and psilocin. There was a study done, I'm sure the images are on the Shroomery somewhere...
Anyway, the increase is so small that it would be ridiculous to discard the stems. The difference is totally unnoticeable.
Edit: Are you sure, Kaniz? I'm almost certain I found the results of the research...I don't remember where I read it though, They were in pdf format, I believe.

Mycotopia: Variations of Psilocybin and Psilocin Levels with Repeated Flushes (Harvests) of Mature Sporocarps of Psilocybe Cubensis (Earle) Singer. By Jeremy Bigwood and Michael W. Beug Evergreen State College, Olympia, Washington.
Distribution of psilocybin and psilocin in the cap versus the stem in three strains of Psilocybe cubensis cultivated on rye-grain substrate M. R. strain-First flush Psilocybin Psilocin (mg/g) (mg/g) Caps 9.7---------0 Stems 4.2---------0.35
Ecuadorian Strain-First flush Psilocybin Psilocin (mg/g) (mg/g) Caps 7.6--------0 Stems 4.7--------0.4
Amazon Strain-First flush Psilocybin Psilocin (mg/g) (mg/g) Caps 5.7--------0.1 Stems 5.7--------0 ================================== Also here http://nic-nac-project.de/%7Etajkor/27.pdf (in the bottom of p.5): " "The psilocin/psilocybin contents in P. cubensis were in the range of 0.17–0.78%/0.44–1.35% in the cap and 0.09–0.30%/0.05–1.27% in the stem. Hallucinogenic alkaloids (psilocin and psilocybin) have a tendency to be contained in the cap more than the stem. Our results are in agreement with the findings of Wurst et al. [8] who found lower concentrations of psilocybin in the stem than in the cap of the hallucinogenic fungus, Psilocybe bohemica. P. cubensis samples also had a tendency to contain larger amounts of psilocybin than psilocin. This tendency is consistent with results reported by Bigwood and Beug"
