Hello- I am such a junior at this game, and I have been reading my ass off for the past week getting ready for my first shroomification. I am going the basic 1/2 pint jar route with brf and verm. I got everything and I am ready to sterilize! Whew. My big question is that if I don't have a pressure cooker, is the steam method ok, or is there a better way? This is the only thing I am not quite straight on at this point. Also, as a fresh chickie at this, should I stay away from casting(sp?) and just birth them and let 'em grow? I have perlite, too! Thanks for any advice.

I never tried the steam method, but before I had a pressure cooker, I boiled my jars and everything was fine. I you boil, make sure there is enough water remaining in the pot.
Try to make a casing, and keep some jars for cakes. Before making the casing, try to repeat what you are going to do.
