I've become callous to LMB popping up in the grass; however these are different they have rings around the caps. Thought they might be different than the usual ring-less ones i see. Area - Eugene, OR in nice lawn -cap - 1-1.5" -stem 2-3" -no noticeable bruising -gills appeared brown but print was black (printed very poorly overnight) sorry no full mushroom pictures.

the second one i found was growing in a few clusters in some leaf debris around some kind of tree/big bush they look like giant versions of the white mushrooms you find at the market about 4" tall cap of 2.5" no print obviously, it was still closed. appeared to bruise yellow when i washed it off, but only in a few spots. you can see it on the cross section where the cap and stem meet, its not very obvious

are either of these edible/active/what are they? thanks!

In the first one, I say that's them. (Pan. Subb.) which do not bruise blue very often. The second is not edible and probably poisonous. Wait for a mod to reply.

Stay away from the second one! Not sure whether they're edible or not.

Sorry, yeah, they look like subbs. The off round shaped cap and, of course, the black print is indicative. Still, wait for a mod.

First one is a picture-perfect Panaeolus foenisecii.
Second is possibly some sort of Agaricus.

See Good eye. I see it now that I've clicked on the print.

The second one is an Agaricus. To get any farther we need to know what it smells like. Since it's already got maggots in it you won't want to eat it anyway.
Happy mushrooming!

They are inactive. I have eaten hundreds of them with no effects.

not really concerned w/ eating/collecting them but i thought Panaeolina foenisecii = Brown spores Panaeolus subbalteatus = Jet black spores these are black black. How can you tell they are the former by looking? subs seem to be more meaty, but I've never found fresh ones.
