the most incredible feeling for a newbie
    #571281 - 03/06/02 06:20 AM (22 years, 27 days ago)

The greatest feeling feeling in the world has to be that feeling you get when you notice your first actual shroom pins. After all the wait and handling and fighting contams and watching and waiting in your cultivation experience then out of nowhere when you are about ready to say fuck it and quit out of frustrations you see those lovely pins. They double in size in about a 24 hour period and it is euphoric. Please newbies like me just have patience and try to not get frustrated and please dont ever quit. The feeling is worth it. I was talking with a friend here Roadkill when it was happening to me and i could not contain the excitement. Thats the reason success and bags are important if you ask me. I m posting this in cultivation hopefully to inspire newbies like me to not quit and dont give up. The feeling you will get later is almost unexplainable. It is similar to winning a State championship in sports or winning a big game. Hope this post helps others.

Right on SouthernGent, that's a great feeling, but just wait until you harvest your new children, I just did and I found it even better.

It's like watching a miracle. I swear, growing shrooms would be great just as a science project, better than sea monkeys!
And then as a bonus, we get to eat the shrooms.

Much better than sea monkeys. Then again I do remember when I was 7 or so and some kid was sent home for snorting a packet of sea monkeys... maybe I've missed out all these years...I'll just stick with growing mushrooms for now

but whats even better when you successfully cultivate a strain that you are unfamiliar with, and it fruits successfully, and when i mean successful, i mean better than you expected. check this link of some success!

You are so right Southern.I just finished my first flush on casings. I checked them about every hour, just couldn't leave them alone. Once I started seeing Mycil I initially got excited, but then I started to worry. Is that contam or just a shadow? Is the casing starting to overlay, or is that the way its suppossed to look. Are those pins or just pieces of casing?
But then when you see that first pin, and soon more - what a rush. It is such a sence of accomplishment when you see the pins turning into shrooms. Its a great hobby, and I might add, a great bunch of people here to share it with.

Congrats! You'll also enjoy that first homegrown trip.
And then finally, your first ambulance ride to the E.R. in a strait-jacket.
