SOB!
My cake is a good 2/3 colonised and i have noticed a thin white patch on the substrate which the mycelium just wont grow past. I have just injected 17.5% H2O2(hardcore stuff) onto it and dissolved most of it away.
Now im playing the waiting game to see if it really is a bastard contam and wether the mycelium will pick up.

17.5% H2O2, thats very strong. Would of killed the cob web mold, and would of killed your myc too. You could bleach your hair with that strength.

I would say your jar needed to be inverted, and what you thought to be cobweb was mycelium. If it runs out of oxygen, it will stop growing--that's why you flip it. Cobweb is very uncommon in a PF jar pre-birth, unless it's the only thing growing. And it will turn grey quickly. That much peroxide will set your jar back--or doom it.

bollocks
Well, theres a lot of mycelium growth and the preoxide will only have burned a small section of mycelium. Plus the oxygen given off from its decomposition surely would help
I'll see how it gets on, cheers for the replys
