Chronic, as mentioned by stemmer is defined as of long duration, continuing. The other definition of chronic that you are questioning is a colloquial term, therefore it doesn't have a set definition, and the definition varies by who says it, and where it is said. In chicago, chronic could mean something different than in LA. From my experience, chronic is just another name for bud. Not any bud in particular, just bud. Another term for the smokeable part of the plant known as cannabis sativa.  :stoned:

that's just lame to call good weed chronic. Good weed doesn't need a catchy ebonic name. Good weed is headies and chronic is coke and shitty weed.

Who in their right mind would call 'shitty weed + coke' chronic? And who would call their AMAZING CHRONIC BUD just 'Good weed'?

Unless you indeed call it 'headies'...and if you do...isn't that just another catchy "ebonic" name like chronic?

..meh...there's always one.

I've never heard of anybody mixing coke with weed (good or shitty). From all the coke I've done and all the coke dealers i've known, anyone that does that shit wants it one way, up the fucking nose.

EDIT: I've "heard" of people doing it but IME i've never actually came across someone that has done or had known a person that had done it. I know PEOPLE have but really, 99% of coke/potheads would NEVER do it.

There is no way to agree with anyone about this stupid subject.

I was always aware of the fact that chronic COULD mean laced weed.
SO many people use it to describe the weed as being dank or heady. Some people call all weed chronic.
I personally dont like the term (THESE DAYS) because It so often says nothing specific, and the people who call normal weed chronic often dont know that it once meant something other than simple weed for so many people. The fact that they dont know what it originally may have meant has changed, is less specific than "dank" but still have no reason to avoid the term. What the term meant 20 years ago has changed quite a bit apparently.
I dont know many people who still use the term, If they do they are usually little gang-banger wannabes that are infact selling normal weed of any quality.
I prefer to work with people who can describe weed as heady or dank and then even further describe the quality. They usually are not so flashy and dumb about the whole pot dealing thing aswell.

Chronic = GOOD bud plain and simple.

I dont do it cuz I hate coke but some of my friends who do it call it a snowcap if they just sprinkle it on a bowl.

Here in Sacramento, we call blunts laced with coke in them "chewy", it's a cali thing... (ie: let's smoke some chewy man)

download the song:

artist: andre nickatina
song: smokin' chewy

yay laced bud back in the day was called chronic, but fazed out with new slang, now it's just associated with bomb-ass weed...

and coke laced blunts get you blazed, plus your face goes numb, it's actually a pretty cool feeling, and the high is amazing...

try it sometime if you find yourself with a gram of chronic, a half gram of yay, and a peach optimo...

tastes unique too...

"Chronic" was originally a slang term for what we would now call dank bud. I think it was a popular strain, also, but may be wrong. I've never heard anyone refer to "chronic" as a bowl with cocaine.

And for the SlapnCapn, I seriously doubt anybody is lacing pot with anything, it's hard to make money adulterating cheap drugs with expensive drugs, and I doubt anybody would buy a bag of pot they were told was laced with coke. It would be expensive and someone would have to be pretty trusting to actually pay for and then smoke it. I don't know for sure, but I'd guess you don't know what your're talking about, just a guess.

So me going to florida a few years back and purchasing a bag of coke-laced pot, and knowing for a fact that it was laced with coke and being pissed the fuck off at the shady fuck that was selling the shit to us tourist kids makes me full of shit?... oh and guess what? he called it the chronic... it looked like some crystally shit which is what i'm used to the chronic meaning... but no... he really meant the "chronic" as said by the heads of many years ago... of course i didn't find out until my first mouth/lung-numbing hit... my definition of chronic was apparently off... which is why i agree with you when you say it's pretty much a worthless term these days...

and it just so happens that the coke in florida is a hell of a lot better, and a hell of a lot cheaper than the POT is in my home state... grams of fish-scale for 30 while you pay 10-20 (20 in my case as it was some dank "looking" pot...) for a gram of pot... hmm.... i think it'd be real real easy to do some lacing to make your shit more appealing when prices are like that...

I'm really not trying to sound like a dick but it really makes you
look like one when you try to assume someone's personal experience didn't happen... your reality is subjective to you... mine to me...

unluckily for me, my reality happened to include some coke-laced pot.

i don't say "i know for a fact" if i don't...

Whats you're talking about is Coco puffs, at least thats what its called around here. Bud with coke sprinkled on it or rolled in it. Cronic is extremely good weed.

Like the urban dictionary says - it varies from place to place like a lot of slang. Seems to be used as weed laced with coke in the midwest.

I think it's just a word that was used to describe the potency of marijuana. I've heard it both ways as well though...

I believe with the advent of acid we discovered new way to think and it had to
do with piecing together new thoughts of mind. Why is it that people think it's
so evil? What is it about it that there is scares people so deeply? Because
they are afraid that there is more to reality than they have ever confronted.
That there are doors that they're afraid to go in and they don't want us to go
in there either because if we go in, there we might learn something that they
don't know. And that makes us a little out of their control.

i've always known it to be either. whenever someone says chronic i always ask them to clarify, cause i refuse to smoke that shit when its laced with coke anymore.
