fruiting question
    #5716335 - 06/05/06 07:35 PM (17 years, 7 months ago)

juss layed cakes onto perlite and the top seems to still be substrate instead of the white stuff, its loose, I laid the cake with the loose stuff directly on the moistened perlite, is this okay or should that lose stuff be removed and thrown out. will it harm my cakes?

don't let them sit directly on the perlite, not good

put the cap under them if anything

foil works too, just a square for them to sit on

If you mean the dry top layer that you put in the jars when you made them, then you're cool, but you should scrape it away.
