That's probably because you're trying. Just stop trying and THEN you will find it.

I agree with gregorio. That's why we shouldn't fight it. Only wait it out. If a decision or something important is coming up we can sit in silence or take a long walk or ride a rollercoaster or take a swim. Then our minds might have settled closer to our potential and there is yet again room for happiness (joy). Just don't ever try to push it. Wait it out. It always comes.
In my opinion it is not about constant bliss, but more to do with full acceptance.
Who is labeling the vibrations anyway? Early condioning or just drugged up chemicals?
edit to add: ops, come to think of it, that was probably exactly what dblaney was saying in the first place. Sorry bout that.

Nothing wrong with trying to spread some good positive vibes every now and then, is there? I am not saying that I am happy and content all the time. Regular posters here have probably noticed that I'm one of the more fucked up neurotics on this board. But the spring has treated me well this year.
And so have all of you good people.
There have been so much talk about hell, punishment and stuff lately. Sometimes it scares me if I'm low on energy.

OK here's my observation on this. When spring is in the air or romance or many of the good vibe things it is easy enough to share some joy. But it's a shallow thing at best. Only when there is contentment in the depths of trouble and it has rained for a month does your statement have real clout.

. I find that allmost impossible to do at times.
That is why I did say "usually"....
If you get in a crabby pissed off mood, and don't notice, you may stay in that mood.... When you notice it, sometimes it makes you laugh at yourself and it lightens the mood up a bit....
Then there are just those certain days that for no reason, you wake up in a fucked up mood (for no reason at all), and it stays with you all day....
Then there are times when it just feels good to be in an agressive pissed off mood.... Those moods are usually good for working out....! Then when you get done, you are too tired to be pissed....

We will see about that, my friend.
As I said I am not advocating constant bliss, but healing might occur gradually. Don't give up on me just yet.
I disagree that it is shallow. Joy is joy is joy.

Being in a pissed off mood is not a problem for me; it doesn't happen all that often. My problem is that I let stress get the best of me at times and I tend to worry about things that I have no control of.
But your right---working out does work wonders when your stressed and letting every little thing worry you.

everything's gonna be okay?
i struggled with anger for a long time and i'm not sure why it took me so many years to realize that it's pure poison
i began to notice that i would wake up in the morning after a nice dream perhaps and wander into the bathroom to shower or the kitchen to make coffee
and something would happen that would make me say "FUCK!!!!" And fill me with anger, it could be anything, maybe i dropped my toothbrush, or the phone rings at an inopportune moment anything to piss me off right? demons trying to ruin my day.
eventually i just got sick of the poison tired of not-smiling
so what i did is in the morning time i would consciously try not to allow myself to feel angry, to avoid the toxic poison of anger.
as soon as i started doing this, i found that i wouldn't have an angry episode until later and later and later in the day until eventually, i could go a whole day without feeling that poison
and now the poison is free from my life
anger and rage are the dysfunctional feelings of an immature child that cannot cope with its True Honest feelings.
the sad thing that i find among teenage boys, is as they explore their manhood they develop ideas that being angry is powerful. it isn't it's weakness
