I need a plan...

I am considering cultivating mushrooms for the first time and I have a few questions:
1. I own a copy of the "growers guide to magic mushrooms." Should I use the method discussed in that book or is there a better one for a novice on this site?
2. What is the easiest way to obtain active spores aside from finding wild mushrooms?
3. Is there anything specific I should keep in mind as I attempt this for the first time?

being from georgia myself, I'm gonna let you know that it's illegal to posess them here, it's also in bad form to ask someone to violate a law here on the board, so please dont ask for spores or ways of getting them.. thanks.
now to answer the first question, check out the PF tek, it's easier and better in the experience of most.

the most important thing to keep in mind is patience. the quickest way from start to harvest is doing it correctly the first time. doing it correctly takes time. do plenty of research before gathering a single item, decide on a game plan, and go for it - observing the golden rule of patience every way through. you can get away with cutting corners sometimes, but don't try it until you've got a handle on things and a few grows under your belt.
pf tek is certainly good for starters, but there's many ways to go about it and not a single method is out of the reach of a newbie if you learn the method carefully, understand each step involved, follow directions and use common sense. read around and you might find other methods appropriate for your situation.
good luck and remember you'll eventually receive a profound reward.

As a newbie myself I can say that every piece of advice you have been given in your post is correct(not that these guys need to know that lol), but as you being new it is nice to hear that. Patiences is the key part, fallowing directions on wich ever way you are going to do it, and the most important thing to remember is that all great things in life usally have to be kept quiet.

It's worth while to read any link that is HERE
Although those are considered intermediate teks I belive even a tottal newbie could follow them eaisly. Growing mushrooms really isn't hard. Perfecting it is.

If I can understand the teks then anyone should be able to, and I understand them pretty well but sometimes you will have to ask for clarifcation on a few things, but that is what is so wonderful about this place. GL on you studies
