I have a monotub that has flushed nicely but the thing has lots of shrooms growing about an inch or so down....how the hell do I get these out without destroying the whole casing?

on the sides...that is correct. I guess the casing layer was pretty deep(about 11/2 inches) and it had about a hundred or so pins before most of them finally surfaced...still alot down there and grabbed what I could but pulled up some chunks of substrate also....just tossed that back in but really am worried about screwing up the next flush you know.

you shouldn't be harvesting pins. let them mature and they will be much easier to pick.

I guess that was how it sounded......the are mostly mature clusters just they are down deep is all. I wish I could post a pic but do not feel comfortable with that. By the way...the tub is a rubbermaid that is about 6 inches deep I used wbs substrate so it crumbles apart when I am trying to pull them up.I guess I am trying not to disturb the casing layer much in the thought that it will screw up the second flush.

Tip the tray over to dump out the substrate. Don't sweat if it breaks in half, but try not to. Pick the fruits, dunk and put it back. RR
