Are there any other herbs beside Milk Thistle that will make my liver stronger and healthier?
As class is out and there is a 3 months of drinking, smoking and tripping ahead of me, I want an herb (capsuled) that will help my liver take the damage
I hear Milk Thistle is good, is it the best thing to take?

You're on the right track with milk thistle. It's one of the most recognized medicinal herbs for treatment and regeneration of the liver. There is also dandelion, burdock, chamomile and licorice.
Milk thistle is high in the antioxidants called flavonoids which are some of the most potent liver-protecting substances known. Studies conducted by experts show that flavonoids work even better than the well-known antioxidant vitamin E. So do ginger and garlic. Similar flavonoids that improve liver function are also found in rosemary and grape leaves, which are used in Greek cooking. All of these herbs protect the liver from damage and increase the production of beneficial liver enzymes so that the liver can do its job better.
Licorice has been found to neutralize liver toxins. Artichoke has been shown to reduce bile levels in the liver, decreasing congestion. The Chinese herbs 21, shizandra and bupleurum also neutralize liver toxins/
A whole list of herbs used in the Orient—ginger, turmeric, cardamom, ginseng (especially red ginseng), the Japanese plant ukon, reishi mushroom and psyllium seed—have been shown to reduce liver damage
Ginger actually gives other herbs a boost by improving the body's ability to assimilate them.... since the liver is responsible for breaking down substances in the blood, it eventually deactivates medicinal compounds in herbs. Ginger actually protects herbal compounds from being destroyed, making it possible for them to pass through the liver unchanged and thus continue circulating in the blood for a longer time.
Also, any of the following herbs can be useful;
Artichoke; Balmony; Barberry; Black Root; Blue Flag; Boldo; Boneset; Butternut; Dandelion root; Fringetree bark; Fumitory; Gentian; Golden Seal; Greater Celandine; Mountain Grape; Rosemary; Sage; Wahoo; Wild Indigo; Wild Yam; Wormwood; Yellow Dock
of course the best thing for your liver is to go easy on alcohol consumption and drink plenty of water

Quit drinking. Then, have a normal diet with all the food groups but take it easy on the fat.

There is no "number one".. best results are probably obtained by combining herbs and finding the right combination for you. Milk thistle will help stabilize the cell membranes and limit the number of poisons that can enter the cell. It also acts as an antioxidant, helping to repair liver cells and helps the liver to make new cells.
This doesn't mean you can drink yourself under the table every night and take milk thistle and expect to be fine.
Were it me I would probably find the balance between milk thistle, golden seal, ginger, and licorice. As they each serve different functions and can create a sort of symbiotic relationship that would give a greater effect than the herbs by themselves.
It's also much, much, much, much cheaper to buy the herbs fresh and whole and then grind and capsulate them yourself. You are also usually guaranteed better quality this way as well. Many pre-capsulated herbs are low quality, freeze dried, non-potent crap.. as they are not regulated by the FDA. The same could be said for whole herbs as well. You just have to find a quality supplier.

my #1 advice is to put the liver in cold storage until you're done partying or maybe a transplant later..
you'll be fine if you party for the summer

I hear they're now growing whole, healthy livers in lab conditions. They're quite expensive to purchase ATM but will come down in price eventually
