Question about pins. i got a couple pins (in a nice equal flush) about 35 of them on a 8x8" tray.. and a couple of them are beginning to open. the pins are only about 1 1/2" tall, and the caps are only about 1/3" wide. but they are opening.

what the hell is going on ;P

thats normal, sometimes you get big ones sometimes you get small ones, it evens out in dry weight though usually... everyone would usually prefer the bigger ones... but little ones arent uncommon. usually substrate and casing play a big role in the size of the fruit.... aside from humidity and all other standard concerns

are they B+? B+ seems to be the epitome of small "first fruits", the next flush will yield larger, more proportioned fruits. Don't underestimate the power of those little guys, though, they kick ass as much as big ones. Besides, they are cute! My B+ did the same thing, and I thought it was just beacuse I had cakes, but it's really just indicative of the strain. It's just a funny thing they do. :smile:

Nice. Thanks for the reply. Funny thing is, some big ones (about 6") were harvested from a tray which was cased after the one with these small guys on em. Yeah, doesnt hurt me, i'll pick it anyway ;P

Weird...
B+ in general are very easy to grow big, I wouldnt say they were small mushrooms.

If they are opening up early, make sure your humidity is correct. It could be too dry.
